I was wondering those of you have children old enough, did you get this for them? Tell me how they did, what you think about it, etc.

I'm one of those in between vax momma's I don't believe in getting everything just because someone says so, but I am also not fully against vaccinations as they serve an important purpose with education and parent decision if it is right on a per child basis. 

I was totally for this vacination when I heard about it and I have two girls. One who is 12 and the other is 10. I'm gonna wait till there are more studies now that i have heard some of the negatives for this vaccine. 

I personally wouldn't do it. I got the first shot in the series, and got sick, my arm hurt, and the injection site got very red and itchy.
Thats my personal experience, and everyone's will differ. 

@ Jules, this was my thinking too and my daughter is only 10 (11 in Nov) so I felt we had some time. I was shocked to learn they give it to boys as well. I had never heard this until today. Apparently boys/men are the carriers of this virus and pass it to girls/women so they're trying to attack it from both sides girls & boys.

@ Angela yes the doctor said that was her worst downside for it that it really is painful when you recieve it and for up to two full days. She said it was worse than vaccines like tetnus pain wise so I'm like great they'd get one & never want to go back for the next in the series. How long did your symptoms last with it? 

I honestly don't remember how long the symptoms lasted... I got the shot a few years ago. I just know the symptoms were enough to make me look more into the vaccine, and decide not to get the rest of the series. 

Yeah, I've been looking on FB and sites like that to see what everyone has been saying and it seems when there is a reaction it can get pretty severe so I'm definitely worried about it.
