I want to start selling stuff. Not necessarily anything I listed in the title but something that I know will sell. Problem is I don't know what will sell! What would you ladies buy? 

I don't think there is any one that is better than another product wise. What I mean is people only buy so much of any particular place then they don't ya know. Even with places like Avon or Mary Kay that has disposable items people go through such as makeup and skin care you just don't buy it all the time (at least I don't).

I think this is the downfall for most of the traditional home business opportunities out there.

HI Karen, I think the first thing to remember when it comes to "sales" is first you have to love or have a passion for any type of product you wish to sell, and its always great if you personally use (or are addicted to lol) that product too!! Next thing to remember when checking out direct sales is to make sure the company stands for what you believe in or has the same values as you do, also make sure the company has a reputable rating with the BBB and has a strong foundation and has the interest of their consultants as a priority...I have been with only 1 company in my 10 yr journey in direct sales and I must say it would be really hard to ever "switch" companies for me, however there are thousands of women out there that change companies all the time for whatever their reasons are, so you just have to do alot of research and find the one that best fits you and your family...I knew I was with the "right" company when I flipped thru their catalog the very first time and literally loved something on every page and I am proud to say it still is that way even after 10 yrs!!!

There are a TON of companies out there today so another thing to look at is your market..there are pro's and con's associated with both too many consultants in one area and not enough in one area..there is nothing wrong with placing an inquiry to the companies you are considering either, one of their reps should contact you immediately and be able to answer just about any ?'s you may have..and you can also find out how many are actively selling in the area and or where the nearest "leader" is so that way you will have support...But perhaps one of the biggest "signs" is after you gather some catalogs take those to the people you are going to ask to help you get started and see which company gets more of an interest from your friends/family..with those suggestions it should be easy for you to find the right match!! Always remember even though you are in business for yourself you should never be in business by yourself and direct sells is all about what you want out of it and what you are willing to do to make it happen!!

i have been contemplating the home business thing for about a year now and i think i'm finally ready to take the plunge. i really want to to tastefully simple but a friend of mine back in wi does it and she told me i would have to do at least 4 shows or more a week to make a profit. i LOVE party lite (anyone who has been to my house can tell you that!) so i think i should sell what i love. plus they own two sisters gourmet which is kind of like tastefully simple so maybe i can merge the parties.

soooo ladies, i hope you want to buy some stuff :) and i promise not to be pushy, lol.

oh and i was also thinking about party swapping... let me know if anyone is interested.
